Team Oregon presents...

The Dalles Omnium

2026 OBRA Road Race & Time Trial Championships

Saturday, June 13th & Sunday June 14th, 2026

Introducing The Dalles Omnium, a brand-new two-day racing weekend in the Columbia River Gorge! After the smashing success of the Rowena Roubaix OBRA Championships in March 2025, Team Oregon has expanded its race-promotion efforts to a multi-day omnium featuring e8 chip timing, cumulative points scoring, and two OBRA Championship races.

Originally slated to return to the Rowena Crest in 2026, the event has been relocated due to the Rowena Fire of June 2025, which caused significant damage to the roadway and surrounding area. ODOT is currently not permitting bicycle racing on the historic crest. In response, the event is moving east of The Dalles onto classic Gorge racing terrain made famous by the Gorge Roubaix and Cherry Blossom Cycling Classic in the 2000s and 2010s.

OBRA Championships & Jerseys

Both Saturday’s Road Race and Sunday’s Time Trial are official OBRA Championship events for both adult and junior categories.

  • Winners in each designated championship category will receive an official Castelli OBRA Champion Jersey
  • There are select masters 3/4/5 categories that do not qualify for the Championships and are noted as such in registration.
  • To be eligible for a Championship podium, riders must hold a 2026 OBRA Annual Membership.
In addition to race-day podiums, riders will earn omnium points for both events, contributing toward the overall 2-day podium.

Omnium Points Scoring (OBRA Rule 2.14)

An omnium is a multi-event competition where riders earn points in each race, and the overall winner is the rider with the highest total points at the end of all events. You must complete both races to be eligible for the omnium podium.

The Dalles Omnium uses official OBRA omnium scoring. Riders earn points based on their placing in each day’s event, and overall winners are determined by total points accumulated across both races. Unless otherwise stated before the start of the event, points are awarded as follows:

  • 1st — 7 points
  • 2nd — 5 points
  • 3rd — 3 points
  • 4th — 2 points
  • 5th — 1 point

Tie-Breaking Procedures

If riders are tied on total points:

The rider with the most first-place finishes wins.

  • If still tied, most second-place finishes, then third, and so on.
  • If still tied, the rider with the higher placing in the last race (Day 2 Time Trial) — or in the most recent race where at least one tied rider placed — wins the tie.

Omnium awards will be presented following the conclusion of Day 2. There will be separate podium prizes for the Omnium winners.

Cost

The two days of Omnium racing will be $80 for adults, $50 for juniors.

A la carte racing prices are also available for those that can only make one of the two days.

  • Day 1 Road Race: $50 Adults, $40 for Juniors
  • Day 2 Time Trial: $40 Adults, $20 for Juniors

Time Trial Rules (OBRA Rule 15.5):
The Day 2 Time Trial follows official OBRA bicycle equipment:

  • Standard road, time trial, or triathlon bicycles will be used for this event.
  • A fixed-gear bike may be used instead of a freewheel, but it must have a front hand brake installed.
  • Riders may use upturned or forward-pointing handlebars, as well as bars designed to support the forearms (e.g., cowhorn bars, clip-on aerobars, tri-bars).
